A judge has sentenced 27-year-old Nicholas Rodrigo Hovanesian to 14 years in prison for his part in the 2009 New Year’s Day triple murder at the Bolsa Vietnamese Restaurant in southeast Calgary.

Hovanesian plead guilty to accessory to murder and kidnapping in May of 2012.  Hovanesian kidnapped Aaron Bendle and held him for 18 hours as part of a murder plot.

Nathan Zuccerato, Michael Roberto and Real Honorio are serving life sentences for murder in the deaths of Sanjeev Mann, Aaron Bendle and Keni Su’a.  Mann and Bendle were targeted in the attack while Su’a was an innocent bystander.  The three men were shot to death when the group stormed the Bolsa restaurant and opened fire.

With time served, Hovanesian's sentence will amount to another six years and eleven months behind bars.
