A Calgary woman charged with murdering two of her infant children and attempting to kill a third has been found fit to stand trial.

Meredith Borowiec was originally charged after leaving her newborn son in a northwest dumpster in October of 2010.

The baby survived the ordeal after several neighbours, including the child's father, heard his cries and rescued him from the dumpster. The child's father did not know of the child's existence as his girlfriend had kept the pregnancy from him.

In 2011, police laid additional charges against Borowiec, including two counts of second degree murder, in connection to two children Borowiec previously birthed and disposed of.

Borowiec's next court appearance is scheduled for August at which time a trial date will be set.
