Members of the Calgary Roundup Band will be able to buy themselves some shiny new instruments heading into this year's Calgary Stampede.

The Keg's ‘Thanks a Million' campaign is behind the grant and, after hearing from groups all over North America, put it to the public to vote for which ones would receive the 40 grants.

The restaurant chain is celebrating 40 years in the business by giving away the cash.

The Roundup Band has been performing for over 50 years and is made up of local junior high and high school students.

Aaron Park, the band's director, says the group will benefit from new instruments. "We've got a ton of instruments that are so old. Just not functioning anymore and this will provide some new equipment for students."

The Band has always been a part of the Calgary Stampede and will be marching again this year.
