Three Calgarians are facing charges in connection to a break and enter crime ring that is believed to have hit 25 different residences over the last few months.

Police say a group of several associates is believed to be responsible for over two dozen break-ins in Calgary and surrounding areas between March 13 and April 11, 2016.

An investigation was launched in April and so far nine criminal charges have been laid against three individuals and 23 outstanding warrants have been executed.

Investigators think five break-ins at car rental agencies, where vehicles were stolen, are also connected to the suspects.

On Thursday, May 12 at about 12:20 p.m. several people broke into a home in the 100 block of McKenna Way S.E. and a vehicle that was believed to be stolen in another B & E was seen leaving the scene.

The vehicle was found at a residence in the 1500 block of Mardale Way N.E. and the occupants of the vehicle and home were taken into custody.

A search warrant was executed at the home the next day and the following items were seized:

  • A stolen white 2016 Ford Fusion
  • A stolen white 2015 Nissan Titan
  • A sawed-off double barrel shotgun
  • A stolen gun safe that had been emptied
  • Numerous stolen license plates
  • Stolen jewelry, cameras, four high end mountain bikes, numerous laptops and electronics, watches and a Sentry safe

Adam Stewart Young, 33, of Calgary, is charged with three counts of break and enter, two counts of possession of stolen property and nine outstanding warrants

Brian Robert Blais, 33, of Calgary, is charged with one count each of break and enter and possession of stolen property.

Clayton Wade Chief, also known as Clayton Wade McKay, 33, of Calgary, is charged with one count of break and enter, one count of possession of stolen property, and five outstanding warrants.

Alanna Hauck, 29, of Calgary, was arrested on nine outstanding criminal warrants.

Investigators say the recovered stolen property is believed to be worth about $80,000.

Police say additional charges are expected as victims are identified and they are currently in the process of identifying the stolen property and returning it to the rightful owners.

Anyone who has had property stolen should file a police report online, describing the property and providing serial numbers so police can contact them if it is recovered.
