The family of Amanda Antoni say they are in shock over her sudden, unexplained death. The 31-year-old Calgary woman's body was found in her home by her husband on Monday afternoon. Police say the death is suspicious, with signs of a violent incident inside the home.
On Thursday, family members released the following statement:
We, as a family, are speechless and still in shock at the unexplained death of our beloved Amanda. We have lost an awesome, kind, hardworking, daughter, sister, wife, auntie, cousin, niece, friend and soulmate. We will always miss her goofy, fun-loving smile and actions, as well as her stubborn, confident side.
Amanda was a beautiful person who was taken from this world way too soon. She was making a difference in this world with her kind and loving heart. Whether it was buying a meal for someone who was hungry and could not afford food, or brightening someone's day with her amazing smile, laugh, or kindness, she was an inspiration to those who knew her. Amanda was always willing to lend a helping hand whenever she could.
To our extended family and friends, your prayers and memories of Amanda and our family is very much appreciated and cherished. We cannot thank you enough for your support over the past few days.
At this point, we know very little about what happened to Amanda and are working with the Calgary Police Service Homicide Unit in any way we can. We are also in search of answers, as we know many of you are as well.
We are pleading with anyone who may have information about Amanda’s death to contact the police. Our family needs and deserves closure.
We’d ask that in the meantime, you respect our privacy and give us some time to grieve our loss. We are devastated beyond words.
Amanda’s close friends have set up a GoFundMe site to assist with some of the costs associated with this tragedy. We’d like to thank everyone who has donated.
Amanda, we love you so much Sis.
