Travellers arriving to, or departing from, Calgary International Airport this weekend should expect to encounter heavy traffic congestion on the roads surrounding the terminal.
Run the Runway, Saturday morning’s run on the airport’s new runway, and Roam the Runway, a family friendly event on Father’s Day, are expected to bring large crowds of people to the area.
This weekend’s events, hosted by the Calgary Airport Authority, required online registration and registration is currently full.
In addition to the runway events, the airport’s Cell Phone parking lot will be closed late Saturday evening and is not expected to reopen until early Monday. Anyone picking up passengers at the airport is encouraged to park in the short term parking lot where the first 30 minutes of parking is free of charge.
