Calgary police have taken a man into custody after he holed up in a southeast restaurant for several hours on Monday night.
Police were called to Tops Pizza & Steak House on Fairmount Dr. SE at about 7:30 p.m. after a man locked himself inside and allegedly started making threats.
Traffic was blocked off on Fairmount and Southland Drives to give police room to work.
After almost eight hours, the man came out to check the perimeter and was taken down by the Canine Unit.
He was taken to hospital to be treated for dog bites.
Everyone else in the restaurant made it out safely and police say charges are pending.
