The Calgary Police Service has identified the two men believed responsible for hate-motivated vandalism that occurred in and around the Tuscany LRT station last week.

On Wednesday afternoon, police confirmed one of the two suspects has been identified as a current resident of the Calgary Remand Centre who remains incarcerated on unrelated charges. The identity of the suspect has not been released as he has yet to be formally charged.

CPS officials say the have identified the second suspect and are awaiting a warrant to arrest the man.

On the afternoon of Thursday, December 3, 2015, police, with the assistance of Calgary Transit, launched an investigation into anti-Syrian, anti-refugee, and anti-Muslim messages spraypainted on the walls, doors, escalators, train cars, and parked vehicles on the property of the Tuscany LRT station.

The vandalism has been classified as a hate crime.
