Calgarian, Cathy Glover, says she was shocked when medical documents on a patient at the Canmore Hospital started coming out of her fax machine.

She says the documents detail the results of a diagnostic imaging scan and also contains private information including the patient's health number.

Glover says this is not the first time this has happened to her and that she's not sure why the documents were sent to her.

Six months ago, she complained to health region about records being sent to her and was told to destroy those papers.

"It happened 6 months ago, and I contacted the CHR and they told me to rip it up so I did," says Glover, "then we've been noticing this one came through somehow. we put two and two together and realized some one was faxing messages to my phone messaging system."

This time she decided to call the patient herself.

"I would be concerned, that's why I contacted the patient," says Glover, "they were concerned, so I said not to be, I would put it in a sealed envelope and it's just for them."

Health officials in Calgary say that mistakes do happen and they are looking into this case to ensure it doesn't happen again.
