Mendelle Robles, 18, had been missing since Friday, but has now been found alive and well.
Her mother sent a text to CTV's newsroom at about 5:30 on Sunday afternoon saying that she had been found not far from her home at a cafe after an exhaustive search.
She has a serious condition and after she went missing on Friday, her family became frantic with worry.
“It is a mental health disease and she requires a fairly complicated set of medications for maintaining function,” said Melanie Robles, Mendelle’s mother. “It’s very unusual for her but it is in keeping with her medical condition that this has happened.”
The family moved to Calgary from Edmonton less than a month ago for a better support system. Mendelle just started grade 12 at Bishop Grandin High School and is also a conservatory student at Mount Royal University where she is studying the cello.
