Calgary police have charged a male nurse at the Alberta Children's Hospital with two counts of sexual assault and say the victims were under his care at the time of the offences.

Police were called to the hospital on Wednesday, September 7, 2011 for a complaint of a sexual assault on a 13-year-old boy.

The Child Abuse Unit was contacted and launched an investigation.

It was during the investigation that police learned of a second victim, who was allegedly sexually assaulted during his stay at the children's hospital in August 2010.

The second victim was 11-years-old at the time of the alleged offence.

Child Abuse investigators arrested a man at a home in northwest Calgary on Friday, January 13, 2012. He was charged and released.

Police say that the accused is a nurse and the two victims were patients assigned to him during their stays in hospital.

Drew Robert Legary, 42, is charged with two counts each of sexual interference with a child under 16 years and sexual assault.

"This certainly shows how important it is to talk to your kids about the possibility of people behaving inappropriately towards them and how important it is to have them be able to come to a safe place and tell," said CPS Detective Stephen Johnston.

Anyone with information on this incident, or any other alleged sexual assault is asked to call police at 403-266-1234 or Crime Stoppers anonymously using any of the following methods:
