The search for Nick Lush continues and police say they hope some of the evidence collected in the case so far will lead them to the recovery of his body.

Lush, 32, was last seen leaving a Springbank area house party with two individuals in the early morning hours of Sunday, March 29 and was later reported missing by his family.

Police were notified by a witness who reported seeing two males assaulting another male near the Hermitage Road underpass off the Trans-Canada Highway at about 8:40 a.m. that same day.

The witness reported seeing all three men leaving the location in a grey car that headed east on Highway 1 and police confirmed a few days later that the assault and Lush’s disappearance were related.

Two men were arrested on Sunday in Cranbrook B.C., in the Dodge Charger police were looking for, and were returned to Alberta to face charges in Lush’s death even though his body has not yet been recovered.

Charged are:

  • Cody Kenneth Bauer (24) of Calgary, Alberta with the First Degree murder
  • Kristopher Goerzen (22) of Brooks, Alberta with the First Degree murder

RCMP has conducted several searches in the area, southwest of Calgary, over the past few days and officials say more searches are planned.

The Dodge Charger is undergoing forensic examination and police say they are currently processing evidence collected during the investigation in hopes it will lead them to the recovery of Lush’s body.

Lush was last seen wearing:

  • A black “Sons of Anarchy” T-shirt
  • A green camouflage spring jacket
  • Blue jeans
  • Black DC running shoes.

Cody Bauer is expected to appear in Cochrane Provincial Court on April 21 to face the charge, and Kristopher Goerzen is scheduled to appear in the same court on April 14, 2015.

Police are asking anyone who may know where Nick Lush is to call Cochrane RCMP at (403) 932-2211, local police or Crimestoppers, at 1-(800) 222-8477.
