Members of the RCMP have arrested two unidentified men after the suspect vehicle in the disappearance of a Calgary father was located in Cranbrook, B.C.

Nick Lush, a 32-year-old father of three, was last seen at a house party west of Calgary on the evening of Saturday, March 28, 2015.

The following day, RCMP responded to reports of an assault along the Trans-Canada Highway near the Hermitage overpass. Evidence of an assault was located but the suspects and victim left the scene prior to the arrival of officers. Police identified a 2008 Dodge Charger as the suspect vehicle in connection to the assault.

RCMP members have confirmed the assault and Nick Lush’s disappearance are connected.

“At the time we weren’t able to absolutely confirm that those two events were related," explains Inspector Gibson Glavin of the RCMP K division, "but with the arrest of these two men, we can confirm that the disappearance of Mr. Lush, where he was seen leaving a party with two men on the 29th, and a witness having seen a man being assaulted on the roadside near Cochrane on Highway 1 are definitely related.”

“We believe the man being assaulted was Nicholas Lush."

The Dodge Charger was located in Cranbrook, B.C. on Sunday and two men, both in their twenties, were arrested without incident and transported to Airdrie where they are expected to be formally charged on Sunday evening.

Investigators are conducting a forensic examination of the suspect vehicle.

Nick Lush has not been located and RCMP members remain hopeful he will be found alive.

"We're still hoping the public will help us in locating Mr. Lush," said Glavin. "There is quite a bit of a gap in information we need to connection between when the men were last seen assaulting Mr. Lush and their arrest in Cranbrook."

Anyone with information about Lush’s whereabouts or the March 29 assault along the Trans-Canada Highway is asked to contact their local police department or Crime Stoppers.
