Police are investigating a suspicious death in the Bridgeland area.

Police were called to a home at 11 St and 1 Ave N.E. at about 2:30 p.m. Tuesday for reports of an assault.

A deceased male was found in the home and police took several people who were in the residence in for questioning.

Police brought the body of the man onto the street to waiting EMS personnel saying it was necessary because of the dynamics of the situation.

"Certainly there are times when we're called and there's an urgent situation to determine the welfare of someone we will make a very rapid intervention and due to the circumstances we don't want to jeopardize anyone else. the victim or EMS so for those reasons we would typically bring the victim out to EMS," said CPS Duty Inspector Patty McCallum.

McCallum says it is still early in the investigation and details are limited."We're right at the beginningof this investigation so as we speak, people from the public are being spoken to su until we get the information from them, we really are at a posision where we haven't got a lot of details."

The Homicide Unit has been called in to investigate.
