Innisfail RCMP is looking into a suspicious death at a rural property near the town and says it was likely not a random incident.

Police were called to the property at about noon on Monday and found the body of a man when they arrived.

"We were called yesterday to a suspicious occurrence here and upon arrival we located a male approximately between 55 and 60 years old, deceased and right now that's all we have," said RCMP Corporal A.J. Mand.

Police say that the deceased man lived at the residence in Red Lodge Estates.

Neighbours are shocked by the police presence and say it is a quiet community.

“Very quiet individual. Only seen him a few times and we did say hi, we just chatted for a few minutes and everything was fine,” said Marvin Manz.

CTV news has learned that the deceased man is Tim Guilbault.

Guilbault was the Vice President of Human Resources at Brookfield Residential in Alberta.

Police and canine units spent the day searching the property for evidence

Investigators are still trying to piece together what happened but say it seems to be a targeted attack.

An autopsy is scheduled for later in the day on Tuesday to determine a cause of death.

Anyone with information on the events leading up to Guilbault’s death is asked to contact the Innisfail RCMP Detachment at 403-227-3342, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
