The Wild Horses of Alberta Society has doubled the reward for information leading to the person or persons who killed three wild horses near Sundre.

Someone found the horses last week along the Red Deer River about 40 kilometres west of Sundre.

Three were shot: a pregnant mare, a young stud and a colt.

The Wild Horses of Alberta Society says it has doubled the reward to $20,000 thanks to an influx of donations.

There have been more than 20 unsolved horse killings in the area over the last few years.
