Residents of the town of Turner Valley are being advised to stay clear of the Sheep River, waterways and bridges as water levels remain high and fast moving.
Both of the town’s bridges remain closed with the only access in and out of Turner Valley being the Three Point Creek bridge past Millarville. Volker Steven is on scene and allowing vehicles to cross at the driver’s risk. Small cars are being advised against traversing the bridge.
Evacuation orders remain in effect for North Royalite Way. Residents of the evacuation zone are being permitted to return escorted to their homes for necessities and arrangements can be made at the Sheep River Library.
Evacuation orders have been lifted for the Calkins and Okalta area.
Water in the town of Turner Valley is safe to drink. Officials continue to monitor the air quality in the region.
The Turner Valley Golf & Country Club is allowing displaced residents of Black Diamond and Turner Valley access to showers and sitting areas within the clubhouse.
