More details are coming to light about a deadly shooting near Medicine Hat this past weekend.

RCMP confirms that two men are dead.

A man shot and killed by a Medicine Hat police officer Saturday outside of Medicine Hat may have been involved in a missing person case.

One was a suspect in connection with an apparent kidnapping, the other victim was the man believed to have been abducted.

Businessman Chester Hunchak was reported missing Friday.

Saturday an officer searching for the missing man went to a rural home where he was threatened by a man with a gun. The officer called for backup.

When the man came out of the house again, he pulled out a body.  Then he jumped into a vehicle armed with a firearm and drove toward the police.  That’s when the Medicine Hat police officer shot the man.

The suspect's name hasn't been released but sources tell CTV it is Medicine Hat resident Chris Arkell.

RCMP Staff Sgt. Ron Campbell says the investigating officers will reveal more details Tuesday, including the cause of the death of Hunchak.
