Two teens are facing charges in connection to a stabbing at the Franklin LRT Station last week.
On Tuesday, January 18, at about 3:40 p.m., a man in his 20's and a female friend were walking in the 2800 block of Memorial Dr. S.E. when they were approached by at least three men.
The pair was confronted at the top of the stairs at the LRT Station and the man was punched. The man was assaulted again when he made his way to the bottom of the stairs and then stabbed by at least one of his attackers.
The victim was able to flee and attract the attention of a Calgary Transit driver who offered assistance. He was taken to hospital for treatment.
After seeing media coverage of the assault, a second victim contacted police.
He was also approached by a group of males at the Franklin LRT Station about 30 minutes before the stabbing.
In this instance, the victim was waiting for a bus in the south parking lot when three men came up to him and a verbal altercation took place.
Two men in the group pointed knives at the victim and then walked away. The victim was not Injured and nothing was stolen.
A 16-year-old male is charged with aggravated assault, two counts of assault with weapon, two counts of carrying a concealed weapon and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
A 14-year-old male is charged with aggravated assault, two counts of assault with weapon, two counts of carrying a concealed weapon and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
