Gleichen RCMP have confirmed the identity of the body discovered on the side of Highway 842 on Monday morning.

Following an autopsy conducted by the Calgary Medical Examiner’s Office, RCMP have identified the deceased as Steven Weaselhead. A cause of death has not been released.

At approximately 7:00 a.m. Monday, February 1, RCMP were called to a location on Highway 842 near the hamlet of Cluny following the discovery of a lifeless body. According to RCMP, the deceased had suffered injuries consistent with being struck by a vehicle.

Investigators suspect Weaselhead’s death occurred in the early hours of Monday morning.

Steven Weaselhead’s family is asking the person, or persons, responsible for Steven’s death to contact the Gleichen RCMP detachment.

Cluny is located approximately 90 kilometres east of Calgary, near the northern border of the Siksika Nation.
