The first Pacific storm of the fall season is now spreading rain across British Columbia, and will begin to affect Alberta's weather Wednesday night. Rain will arrive in the mountain parks, with snow at higher elevations. The westerly wind will keep us all dry east of the Rockies, but the wind will become rather powerful, especially along Highway 3 and south of there. In Calgary, wind gusts of 50 km/h or greater can be expected over the next three days. Gusts will be closer to 80 km/h in southern Alberta.
