The season's first cold spell can't, and won't last forever. By the end of this week, we'll get a break from the bitter cold, and while temperatures will climb, and while the sun will come out, it will remain cooler than average. Highs will approach the melting point, but not much warmer. Indications are this, too, is temporary, and we return to colder weather again next week.
