A 21-year-old man and a 43-year-old woman, both from Lethbridge, are facing drug related charges following an April 1 traffic stop on Highway 2.

Following an investigation into drug trafficking in Lethbridge, RCMP and Lethbridge police identified two suspects and located the pair on Highway 2, at a location just north of the town of Fort Macleod.

Officers performed a traffic stop and, during the subsequent search of the vehicle, located 274 grams of crack cocaine. Police believe the two suspects were attempting to import the drugs into the Lethbridge area.

The crack cocaine has an estimated street value of $27,000.

21-year-old Tanner White and 43-year-old Tracy Soltesz were arrested without incident and charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking.

Tanner White faces additional charges of:

  • Possession of proceeds of crime
  • Breaching of recognizance (two counts)

White was previously arrested in connection to a December 2013 Lethbridge drug trafficking investigation.
