Multiple street parties brought out Calgarians on the weekend for fun in the sun.

Thousands of people went to Inglewood for Sunfest to enjoy live performances, vintage cars and food. About 30,000 people of all ages attended. Kids were treated to bouncy houses, trampolines and magic shows, while the adults could indulge in the Village Brewery beer garden. The festival strives to be green, with no Styrofoam allowed. Last year, 70% of waste and recycling was diverted away from the landfill.

At the same time, Kensington was transformed into an outdoor party full of BMX fans for the second annual Summertime in the City event. BMX riders and skateboarders impressed the crowd with an acrobatic show.

And this is the second year for Slide the City, which transformed 10th Street into a giant slip and slide. More than 8,000 people splashed down the massive 1,000 foot-long slide alone or in groups.  The event was boosted this year with the addition of street entertainers, music and local vendors.
