Police are appealing to the public for help to find two men who are wanted on Canada-wide warrants in connection with a violent kidnapping and extortion back in August.

Officers responded to a call at a residence in the 100 block of St. Moritz Drive S.W. at about 3:00 a.m., on Wednesday, August 6 and say a woman alleged that a family member had been kidnapped and was being held in exchange for money.

The male victim had just been returned when officers arrived and they took one person into custody.

Police say two other men fled the area and they are now wanted on Canada-wide warrants.

Mohamed Abdi Yusuf, 23, is originally from Etobicoke, Ontario and is described as:

  • 191 cm or 6’3” tall
  • 82 Kg or 180 pounds
  • Medium build
  • Brown eyes and black hair
  • Also goes by the alias of Frankie

Tusif Ur Rehman Chhina, 30, is described as:

  • 175 cm or 5’9” tall
  • 59 Kg or 130 pounds
  • Medium build
  • Brown eyes
  • Balding black hair and a scar on his forehead
  • Also goes by the alias of Raheem
