Police have laid dozens of charges and seized guns and hundreds of thousands of dollars in drugs and cash after a nearly one-year long investigation into Ottawa-based gangs operating in Calgary.
A total of 34 people have been arrested and over 250 charges laid.
Police say during their initial investigation, they discovered evidence that a larger drug network was operating in the city.
Four shooting incidents in the city have been linked to the gang and multiple charges have been laid in each.
Abdirahman Hussein, Abdulaziz Abdullah and Ahmed Zalal are facing charges in connection with a shooting in Dover on October 5th.
Mustafa Ahmed and Yasin Ahmed Mohamed are charged in connection with a shooting downtown on February 29th.
Hussein is also charged in connection with a second shooting downtown on February 29th.
Jibril Adam is facing charges connected to another shooting downtown May 3rd.
Zalal and Abdullah are being held in an Ottawa prison in connection with a shooting in that city.
Police are also looking for three men, 22-year-old Mahad Dirir, 26-year-old Mubarak Farah, and 25-year-old Liban Bakal.
