The Calgary Zoo’s island exhibits suffered a lot of damage in the floods and after more than three months some of the big cats were finally able to return home.
The lions were returned to their large, grassy enclosure on Monday.
The Zoo made the announcement on social media and released a video of the lions as they ventured into the big enclosure for the first time in months.
The northern part of the zoo was reopened in July but rebuilding the island exhibits and venues could take years.
