Friends and family gathered on Monday afternoon to remember Ken Gellatly who was killed in a plane crash along with three others near Kelowna earlier this month.

Gellatly, an optometrist from Calgary, was killed along with former Alberta Premier Jim Prentice, Jim Kruk and Sheldon Reid, when the small plane they were in crashed on October 13.

Gellatly, who was the father-in-law of one of Prentice’s daughters, practiced optometry for 40 years and his family says he loved golf and squash.

A service was held on Monday at 2:00 p.m. at Grace Presbyterian Church.

A memorial service for Kruk was held last week in Airdrie and a service for Reid is scheduled for later this week.

A state memorial for Jim Prentice will be held at Calgary’s Jubilee Auditorium on October 28.
