Calgary police have released CCTV photos of a truck from the scene of a copper theft back in December and are hoping a re-enactment of the crime will bring new information forward.

Police were called to the corner of 52 Street and 90 Avenue S.E. at 5:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 11, 2013, after someone used cutting tools to remove a section of temporary TELUS telecommunications cable.

Investigators say the culprits loaded the cable into a dark-coloured Ford F250 or F350 and then fled the scene.

Three offenders are believed to be involved in the theft and police say one of them was wearing a reflective vest.

Officials warn that the theft of copper and other metals from critical infrastructure can put the safety of communities and responders at risk.
