According to RCMP, the reopening of the Trans-Canada Highway and Highway 1A has been delayed.  An updated estimate for the reopening of routes between Banff and Canmore has not been released.

The Trans-Canada Highway between Banff and Canmore remains closed to traffic with exceptions being made for emergency vehicles, maintenance vehicles and ROAM shuttles.

The Town of Canmore is asking its citizens to use water for essential services only and is urging people to conserve water.

People are being asked to refrain from doing laundry, dishwashing, showering, and watering landscaping.

Water should be used for drinking and food prep only and should be boiled for 1 minute before using.

Officials say people who have water in their basements should pump it into dry ground only and not dump in into the streets or sewage system.

The levels in the Bow River remain steady and are not increasing.

The river is still high and dangerous and town officials are working on re-entry plans for evacuated homes.
