More former customers of Sunridge RV, a bankrupt trailer dealership with locations in Crossfield and Airdrie, are coming forward, sharing their stories about how they’ve been left in the lurch during the proceedings.

Sunridge RV sought creditor protection on March 4, 2016, and was forced into bankruptcy last week. Operations at both of the company’s locations have ceased.

Documents reveal that the company owed about $10M to 100 companies and individuals, who are all listed as creditors.

There are many more unsecured creditors, people who had made deposits to the dealership, that are worried that they will lose their investments altogether.

Other people, like Marg Roseneder, are left waiting with their RV sitting behind a locked fence at the Sunridge RV lot in Crossfield.

Roseneder says she’s provided the trustee with proof of ownership, but there is no way to get it out, short of a court order at their cost.

Her family is now without a means to go camping on the upcoming Easter long weekend, a getaway that they’d been looking forward to all winter.

“I think that’s what’s leading to a lot of frustration and anger – nobody is getting any answers, any definitive answers, so it’s hard to make plans for the summer,” she told CTV on Wednesday.

The Alberta Motor Vehicle Industry Council, or AMVIC, wants to hear from all of the customers affected by the Sunridge RV bankruptcy proceedings, even if they have already spoken to the trustee.
