Calgary police are still trying to piece together the circumstances leading up to the death of a man at a home in Bridgeland on Tuesday and have confirmed that his death is a homicide.

Officers responded to a call from a home near the intersection of 11 St. and 1 Ave. N.E. at approximately 2:30 p.m.

Someone called 911 and indicated that an assault had taken place at the address and quickly hung up.

Officers found a man inside the home who had been involved in some kind of altercation.

Police are not saying what happened but they decided to bring the man out to paramedics for treatment.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators were at the scene all day on Wednesday and have interviewed several people who were in the home at the time.

One person is in custody and charges are pending.

There is no word yet on the identity of the man or on how he died.
