A Saturday morning fire severely damaged the garage of a northwest home but the efforts of the Calgary Fire Department contained the flames from spreading to the attached house.

At approximately 4:00 a.m., firefighters responded to a home in the 100 block of Arbour Ridge Park N.W.  Fire crews were met by the residents of the house who had safely evacuated from the house.

The fire was extinguished and crews remained on the scene for several hours to ensure hot spots did not reignite.

No one was injured in the fire.

An investigation into the cause of the fire is underway.
