A Calgary court has found the wife of a doctor, convicted of sexual assault, guilty of trying to bribe a juror during her husband’s trial.
Erica Levin was charged with obstruction after a juror in the trial of her husband, Dr. Aubrey Levin, came forward to Alberta Justice saying she had been approached by a relative of the accused.
The Juror said they were offered $1000 in exchange for a vote of not guilty in the case against Dr. Levin.
During Erica Levin’s trial, jurors were shown surveillance footage from the Calgary Courts Centre and 6th Street LRT platform from January 2013, the day she was accused of offering the bribe.
On Thursday, the nine woman, three man jury found her guilty of the charges.
She remains free on bail until her sentencing in November.
