Retired general Rick Hillier will receive an honourary degree from the University of Calgary Friday during fall convocation ceremonies.
Hillier, the former chief of defence staff, says he’s honoured to receive this degree and will accept it on behalf of the men and women who served under his command in the Canadian Forces and their families.
About 1,400 students will graduate during Friday’s ceremonies.
