The Calgary Police say they have arrested Deng Keror, a man suspected in the death of 28-year-old Phillip Anny on Sunday.
Police are expected to release more details on his arrest later on Tuesday.
Anny was found lying in the middle of Appleside Drive near Applewood Close S.E. early Sunday morning.
Police say that Keror pulled the trigger of the gun that killed him in what they think was a drug deal gone that ended badly.
Keror is known to police because of his history with violence and drug crimes.
“Mr. Keror has been involved in violence in the past. He’s a person of interest in a home invasion from three or four days ago as well as this incident of homicide. So we do believe he has a propensity for violence and we’re concerned about that so that’s why we are warning the public today,” Staff Sergeant Grant Miller said on Monday.
Police say their investigation is continuing with a van that was found nearby the area where Anny was killed.
