Calgary police have issued an arrest warrant for a man in connection to Sunday's murder of Philip Anny in the southeast community of Applewood.
Police say they received calls about gunshots early Sunday morning.
Anny was found lying in the middle of Appleside Drive near Applewood Close S.E. at approximately 3:30 a.m. and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say Anny's death appears to be a targetted attack.
"We do believe they are associated and have known each other for some time, but we're hoping our investigation will be able to tell us exactly how long they've known each other and what their specific relationship was," said S/Sgt. Grant Miller.
Deng Kerror, 21, is wanted on warrants for second-degree murder in connection to the shooting of Anny.
Kerror is described as:
- Sudanese male
- 188 cm (6'2")
- 90 kg (200 lbs)
- slim build
Anyone with information on Kerror's whereabouts is asked to contact the Calgary Police Service or Crime Stoppers.
Anny's death is Calgary's twelfth homicide of 2012.
