Lake Louise's new heated bubble chairlift is officially open
Lake Louise Ski Resort has opened up a new heated chairlift just in time for some chilly days on the hill.
The ski resort announced that its new Pipestone Express Chair has officially opened as of Tuesday.
The high-speed chair features a six-person heated bubble design to help keep skiers and snowboarders out of the elements on their way up the mountain.
The lift has a ride time of 6.6 minutes, according to the resort, with the ability to transport 2,000 people per hour.
The new chair was built to reduce lift lines and improve access to the West Bowl.
Lake Louise is holding an official opening ceremony for the lift on Dec. 21.
The resort currently has 89 runs and 12 chairlifts open for the season, with more runs set to open as conditions allow.
