The Calgary Police now say that a stabbing incident near the Marlborough LRT station is no longer considered to be a random attack.
The incident occurred at just before 7 p.m. on Tuesday.
They say the man got off the CTrain and was walking away from the area when he was confronted by three people.
The group ended up getting into an argument and began to fight which culminated with the victim being stabbed.
The suspects fled the scene and the victim managed to make it to the sidewalk where he collapsed.
He was rushed to hospital in critical condition, but is now listed as stable.
The suspects are described as black males, all between the ages of 18 and 25 years old.
Two are about 6' tall while the third is about 5'8".
All of the suspects were wearing black-and-red clothing and baseball hats.
