A Calgary-based home builder is making a bold move during the economic slowdown overtaking Alberta by taking two luxury homes and putting them on the auction block.
The first home, located at 302 Hawk’s Nest Hollow in Priddis, is a 9,200 square foot, 5 bedroom, 5.5 bathroom currently listed at nearly $4M.
The other, just a few doors down at 306 Hawk’s Nest Hollow, is over 5,500 square feet and has 4 bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms.
Paul Bellissimo, with Homes by Bellia, says that auction format guarantees both homes will sell.
“The market is strong in this level of home. I just wanted to be out of the ordinary - something different no one’s seen before – two new homes going to auction from a builder.”
A New York City based real estate auction firm is handling the deal and a spokesperson says the unique take will bring a lot of attention to the properties.
“We’re finding home owners across the world, particularly in North America, are making the business decision that they want an accelerated sales process with a finite sales date,” says Chris O’Neill with Concierge Auctions. “It gives the power of the homeowner to pick the date they want their property to sell and they know 30 days later, they will have a close.”
Both homes will be auctioned on July 23.
