A man rushed to Foothills Hospital in critical condition after others found him on a pathway near the boat launch in South Glenmore Park has died from his injuries.
Police and emergency crews were called to the area by a jogger on Tuesday evening at about 7:00 p.m. for reports that a man was found on the ground and unconscious.
The man, in his 40's, was taken to Foothills Hospital with what appeared to be stab wounds to his upper body and later died from his injuries.
Calgary police are calling it an undetermined death but have called in the Homicide Unit to investigate.
A number of witnesses are being talked to by investigators although it appears that the man might have been alone when he was found.
Police have taped off a large area to investigate the scene and have a person of interest in custody.
They say they are not looking for any other suspects at this time.
