Police responded to a home in the southeast community of Parkland, at approximately 3:00 a.m. Saturday morning, following reports of a man injured by gunfire.
On arrival, officers found a 23-year-old man suffering from a single gunshot wound.
The man was transported to hospital by EMS in non life-threatening condition.
Police believe the victim knew his assailant and the shooting is not believed to have been a random attack.
The location and time of the shooting have yet to be confirmed. An investigation into the shooting is underway.
The victim remains in hospital in stable condition following a successful surgery.
