A 28-year-old Calgary man has been sentenced to life with no chance of parole in connection to three fatal shootings during a gang war which, according to a Calgary judge, placed the city in the midst of a ‘reign of terror’.
Earlier this month, Nathan Zuccherato entered a guilty plea in connection to the 2008 shooting deaths of Kevin Ses and Tina Kong at the Food in East restaurant and the 2009 shooting death of Aaron Bendle at the Bolsa Restaurant.
Michael Roberto, Zuccherato’s accomplice in the Bolsa Restaurant shootings of New Year’s Day 2009 which claimed the lives of Bendle, Sanjeev Mann and innocent bystander Keni Su’a, reached a plea bargain deal with the prosecution in July 2013. Roberto received partial immunity and credit for time served, and will be eligible for parole in 2016.
