The fatality inquiry into the death of a Calgary mother will continue next month.

Courtt heard from the two paramedics who rushed Ashish Toews to hospital the day after she had a tummy tuck

Toews was just 33 years old when she died in 2008, shortly after she had her plastic surgery at a private Calgary clinic.

Toews had trouble breathing and her oxygen levels were low, but the clinic is not licensed to keep patients overnight so Toews was sent home and released into the care of her husband, Jason.

The inquiry can't lay blame, but can make recommendations to prevent similar deaths.

Jason Toews recommends patients who have any difficulty following surgery not be released into the care of spouses or other family members.

The inquiry continues next month, when the doctor who performed the surgery will testify.
