Police have now confirmed that a man who died during a standoff with Revelstoke RCMP in October 2017 is connected to the murder of a man in southwest Calgary.

Officers were called to a home in the 2300 block of Oakmoor Drive S.W. on October 15, 2017 after the body of a man was found inside by a family member.

The victim was identified as Cyrus Ebrahimi, 29, of Calgary and officials say he died as a result of a shooting.

Police began a search for Mohammadali Darabi, 32, Ebrahimi’s roommate.

Two days later, Revelstoke RCMP found a 2006 Toyota Corolla, believed to belong to Darabi.

A man was found inside the vehicle and was later declared deceased.

An autopsy confirmed the man’s identity as Darabi and a subsequent forensic analysis of the firearm found inside the vehicle matched the weapon used in the Ebrahimi homicide.

Calgary police say it was a targeted incident and consider the case closed.
