Calgary police have now identified the victim of a fatal shooting on Saturday night in Monterey Park.
At about 9 p.m. on Saturday, officers responded to the scene of a shooting in the 7000 block of California Boulevard N.E.
When they got there, they found a man suffering from gunshot wounds to his chest and stomach lying in the driveway of one of the homes.
He was taken to hospital where he later died.
Police have identified the victim as David Quach, 27.
They say they have spoken to a witness after the shooting that first spotted the victim lying in the driveway next to a vehicle parked there.
As the witness looked on, Quach got up and attempted to drive away from the scene, but ended up hitting the witness’ vehicle and falling out onto the ground.
Police say the incident is not believed to be a random attack.
