A man wanted in connection to a violent home invasion in the city’s northwest back in May has been arrested by Calgary police.

Two people were injured when a group of men forced their way into a residence in the 100 block of Panatella Park N.W. on May 15 at about 11:45 p.m.

Police say a man in his 50s and a teen were in the home at the time and were assaulted by the group repeatedly with blunt and edged weapons.

The suspects fled the scene following the attack with property from the home.

A warrant was issued on August 3 for Achor Jal, 20, in connection to the incident.

Jal was located by police on Wednesday and taken into custody on five counts of breach of recognizance and one count of break and enter.

Police continue to investigate the home invasion and are looking into possible motives for the targeted attack.
