Canmore RCMP is investigating the suspicious death of a man whose body was found near the Chiniki Rodeo Grounds on Sunday afternoon.

Police were called to the area near the Stoney Nakoda First Nation at 3:18 p.m. and found a man lying unresponsive on the ground.

Family members have identified the man as 21-year-old Kori Wesley and the Major Crimes Unit is considering his death suspicious.

"My son had hopes and dreams and his whole life ahead of him and for them to take it away from him, I hope they catch whoever is responsible for his death, but that won't matter because he isn't coming back," said Lori Wesley, Kori's mother.

An autopsy, to determine the cause and manner of death, is scheduled to be completed in Calgary on Tuesday.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Cochrane RCMP at 403-851-8000, local police or Crime Stoppers by phone at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or by internet at www.tipsubmit.com.
