A man and two children were shaken up after someone fired several shots at their home on Wednesday morning.

The man and two children, aged five and eight months, were inside a home in the 100 block of Tuscany Vista Rd. N.W. when the shooting occurred at around 3:45 a.m.

Police say multiple shots were fired in the area and several rounds hit the home.

No one was hurt but several bullets hit the house, damaging the siding and windows.

"At this point, we don't know if it was a targeted attack. The shots were fired directly at that residence, but as far as targeting the occupants inside, there's no indication that they're known to police. The police have not been notified of that address in the past," said CPS Duty S/SGT Jon James.

Neighbours in the area say it was a scary situation and they are glad that no one was hurt.

Paula Caldenhead says that she heard the gunfire right away. "I got out of bed, I thought it was, I heard pops actually. I got out of bed and I looked out the window to see what I could see, and I didn't see anything. I tried listening for something and I didn't hear anything but I was worried, so I called police. It's full of kids, this neighbourhood."

Police are looking for any surveillance footage from the area and are interviewing neighbours.
