The Marching Show Bands World Championships are in Calgary this year, running in conjunction with the Stampede.

The hometown favourite is the Calgary Stampede Showband.

The Showband practices 12 hours a day, from ten in the morning until ten and night, and they just brought in floodlights to keep going after dark.

The Showband has never lost a competition at home so the pressure is on.

The band members expect hometown crowds will supply the extra boost they need to put them on the podium.

The Marching Show Bands World Championships run July 7th to 9th at McMahon Stadium, and the finals are on July 10th inside the Saddledome.
